ADMISSION
Old St. Mary’s School does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, national or ethnic origin. All parents are expected to be active in the practice of their faith. Because Old St. Mary’s School is a Catholic School, children will be exposed to the values, customs, rituals, teachings, and devotions of Catholic people in the tradition of the Second Vatican Council. Children who attend Old St. Mary’s, even though they may not be of the Catholic faith, will be expected to join in these formative activities. Parents are expected to support the growth and welfare of the school. By forging a partnership, the parish and the parent will be furthering not only the individual growth of their child but also the vision of Jesus Christ. Any child entering school must be in compliance with the requirements of the State of Illinois regarding age of admission. Preschool students must be able to handle all bathroom needs independently. Preschool students must be three or four years before September 1. Students entering kindergarten must be five before September 1.
Admission priority is extended to the siblings of our current families, and to those active parishioners who worship and involve themselves in the life of the parish. Consideration will then be given to the children of registered parishioners and others cognizant of the philosophy of the school and its relationship to the parish community.
